Operating in over 70 treatment centers in multiple states, our team members are engaged in medication-assisted treatment, counseling, support, and care management of individuals living with OUD. We treat the whole person and, in so doing, address the underlying causes of OUD in an effort to provide a continuum of care that not only addresses treatment needs but supports the patient on their journey to recovery.
Job Summary:
Provides individual, group, and family counseling to patients as required. Collaborates with multidisciplinary treatment team consisting of Medical Director, Program Director, Treatment Services Coordinator, Counselors and Nurses to identify and meet the clinical needs of the patient and to assist in their overall well-being.
Essential Functions:
The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) will provide direct peer-to-peer support services to individuals who have substance abuse or co-occurring disorders. As an advocate for patients, the Certified Peer Recovery Specialist will be responsible for providing essential expertise and consultation to the entire multidisciplinary treatment team to promote a culture in which each individual's treatment needs and preferences are recognized, understood, respected and integrated into treatment, rehabilitation, and community self-help activities. The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist will draw from his/her own journey of recovery to inspire hope and provide support to others who are facing similar situations..

Essential Qualifications:

Education/Licensure/Certification:Have a High School diploma or equivalent. Complete the online Missouri Credentialing Board Certified Peer Support Specialist Exam.
Required Knowledge:Entry-level knowledge. (Basic week-long 35 hour training conducted by the Missouri Credentialing Board). Must complete annual continuing education offered by the Missouri Credentialing Board to allow the Peer Specialist to maintain certification. Must be computer literate and have basic knowledge of all Google products.
Additional training in behavioral intervention, CPR, First Aid and Human Rights will be provided by the company.
Experience Required:Self identify as a present or former primary consumer in substance abuse recovery or of mental health services.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Must have at least 2 years experience working with Adult MH/SA disorders.
Pass background check or request an exception to the findings.
Complete a State approved training program and pass a standardized examination.
Skill and Ability:Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able
to multitask, prioritize, be dependable and reliable.
