Who We Are Looking For: Are you the Peer Support Leader we have been looking for? In this position you will be able to convey your passion for helping others by working with people in the community! JRI's Program RISE is a multi-service program serving the Metrowest area. RISE offers free confidential HIV counseling, testing and referrals, STI and Hepatitis testing, HIV Case Management, Housing Search & Advocacy, Peer Support Services, LGBT services, Overdose Prevention and Education, Needle Exchange, community education programs on HIV, STIs, viral Hepatitis, harm reduction, and LGBTQ cultural competency. Schedule: 12 hours per week JRI Provides The Training So That:
- YOU will provide resources and tools that help clients improve health outcomes and their quality of life.
- YOU will facilitate our Women's support group meetings and provide individual and group level support to program participants.
- YOU will recruit new clients for participation in services.
- YOU will provide information and supported referrals to all clients for primary care, social support, emotional support, vocational needs and prevention needs.
- YOU will assess client's needs, income, residency, and provide service planning.
- YOU will create new client charts with all required documentation;
- YOU will maintain charts through regular reassessments, service plans, and tracking of outcomes.
- YOU will write progress notes after 1:1 and group level contact with program participants.
- YOU will conduct face-to-face client visit a minimum of once a year to reassess service needs.

Requirements:
- Candidates should have firsthand knowledge of HIV/AIDS and experience providing direct support services to people living with HIV/AIDS.
- Candidates should have the ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds and communities, including youth, homeless individuals, people who use substances, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people of color.
- Candidates should have the ability and willingness to attend required training.
- Candidates must have knowledge of harm reduction philosophy and practice.
- Candidates must have the ability to embrace and communicate a positive, self-affirming, empowering attitude toward the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS.
- Candidates must be able and willing to share personal experiences of living with HIV/AIDS to help educate, provide emotional support, and offer practical self-care strategies to clients.
- Candidates should have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Candidates must have the ability to advocate for self and others.
- Candidates must have a high school diploma. Candidates with some college experience are preferred.
- Candidates should have computer skills, familiarity with office software, the ability to use or be trained in Electronic Health Record software, internet literacy, social media platforms, and writing skills.
- Candidates should have a flexible schedule and be able to be reliably accessed by phone and/or email.
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.
