For more than 50 years, Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) has served the Washington County community and the Orange County towns of Orange, Washington, and Williamstown. WCMHS provides education, support, and treatment of individuals and families living with mental health challenges, substance use issues, and developmental and intellectual disabilities. Providing accessible, high-quality services in the community, schools, and health care settings, we work toward positive outcomes for wellness with collaborative, inclusive, and compassionate care. Washington County Mental Health Services is “Where Hope and Support Come Together.”Position: Peer Support. This hourly position is a direct service position that provides peer support to Community Support Program clients during their stay in a respite bed. The Peer Support person is responsible for the supporting of guests as well as follow through on daily program responsibilities and paperwork. This position involves working independently with the guest with support from an on-call supervisor.
Specific Duties and Requirements:
Qualifications: Access to reliable transportation and phone. High School diploma requirement, basic computer skills and mental health experience. Lived experience with mental health issues. Must be able to communicate and write effectively, work with minimal supervision, able to do daily house maintenance, lifting of 20 pounds, availability for various trainings and team meetings. To act and dress in a professional manner.
Compensation and benefits: This part time position offers an hourly rate of $18.50/hr. and excellent benefits; part-time regular positions receive 12 days' vacation and 12 days sick time annually - prorated based on standard hours.
