Job Description:
OverviewFinance Domain engineer will be responsible for delivering professional level engineering work in support of the development and integration of applications, tools, platforms, and services. The person would need to operate within established methodologies, procedures, and guidelines and apply knowledge of engineering principles and techniques to solve technical problems. Work is self-directed and not prescribed. Work involves understanding the business challenges and coming up with solutions to solve the problem with enhanced features and process flows while including advanced technology components and working with system implementors and vendors.The candidate must be experienced in various architecture patterns and have participated in the full Software Development Life Cycle (requirements, Design, Development, COTS integration, Deployment, and/or Support); He/she will have experience with Agile Safe methodologies with ability to communicate Solution Requirements, design and Architecture with Technical and Non-technical Stakeholders. Individuals in this role will work on multiple highly complex projects and require in depth technical knowledge of cloud architecture approach and have experience of cloud technology stack. In this role, the candidate will be expected to work on multiple projects and be able to collaborate in multiple engagements across the product teams.ResponsibilitiesLead development and integration of Finance product technologies with respect to application/enterprise capabilities and software for multiple on-going projects; collaborating closely with enterprise and solution architects, aligning to most current strategiesResponsible for systems analysis, design, development, integration, enhancement, and deployment as well as application support for various applications and COTS productsDevelop, engineer, or modify software application modules or enterprise-wide software systems using disciplined development and engineering processesImplement integration plans and interface with testing teams to incorporate plans into the integration testing processResearch, evaluate, recommend, and implement information technology that aligns with business needs and meets objectivesUse holistic knowledge of all products in the information technology ecosystem to plan how new systems will be built and integratedInstall, maintain, and perform configuration of infrastructure applicationsReview solutions to ensure alignment with customer objectives, organization guidelines/benchmarksand industry best practicesProvide technical direction and leadership routinely to other engineers; serve as a coach and mentorIdentify potential problems in design, quality, security, or operation and initiate corrective actionIdentify opportunities to effectively mitigate risk and improve performance, security and operationsQualificationsExperience working with application development platforms especially with “low-code” or “no code” platforms like Pega, Dynamics 365 & Service nowSignificant PEGA experienceTechnical development and engineering skills with understanding of the development lifecycle, including software design, development, integration, testing, and support of applicationsKnowledge of scripting and programming languages to include Java, JS, SQL, RESTful and SOAP-based web servicesSolid hands-on experience implementing products in private, public and hybrid cloud infrastructure/solutions (e.g, Azure, Oracle Cloud, AWS)Experience in SQL (Oracle or MS SQL)Technical experience in J2EE and API integration, with well-rounded software engineering best practices on various platformsExperience with Agile software development practices including SaFE, Scrum, ADO, Peer Review, Git, and CI/CDKnowledge of discipline engineering principles, practices, and theories, and methods to identify and solve the highest complex problems and perform sophisticated analysesKnowledge and understanding of the end-to-end IT process, including architecture, design & engineering, implementation, and operationsTroubleshooting skills and ability to identify root causes of issues and provide solutionsKnowledge of project lifecycles and management methodologiesExperience in cloud migration and engineering cloud centric environmentsExperience leading systems analysis, design, and architecture effortsSelf-motivated and proactive, able to learn quickly and apply new concepts, tools, and applicationsDemonstrated ability to solve complex system/integration problems through innovative solutionsAdvanced problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, team building, and presentation skillsAdvanced skill applying innovative approaches to solve technical design issuesExpert verbal, interpersonal and written communication skillsBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experienceDesired QualificationsTechnical certifications Pega, AEC, Dynamics 365, and/or Azure / CloudMaster's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldKnowledge and/or understanding of Finance, Treasury, or AccountingTechnical experience with Remittance Processing and Payment Processing softwareKnowledge of banking/financial industry trends, products, and servicesKnowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies and proceduresHours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PMLocation: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180 | 5510 Heritage Oaks Drive Pensacola, FL 32526 | 141 Security Drive Winchester, VA 22602About UsNavy Federal provides much more than a job.
