Job SummaryThe Pension Specialist is responsible for plan administration services that includes calculation and maintenance of pension payroll records. The Pension Specialist will also utilize Operational Excellence Lean tools and methodology to ensure quality output and service delivery; as well as maintain an understanding of the plan design (e.g. coverage levels, options, and eligibility guidelines).This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more days on site a week) and will be based out of our Davidson, NC location
Responsibilities: - Ownership of the database of record for the pension team to include indicative data updates (i.e., address, direct deposit, and tax changes) to pensioner database.
- Monthly balancing and reconciliation of pension annuity payments for multiple retiree payrolls.
- Prepare pension benefit calculations for multiple plans.
- Reconcile and research pension data.
- Research and respond to participant inquiries via phone or written correspondence.
- Update and close case work within established SLAs.
- Adhere to plan documents and government regulations when administering plans.
- Generate and review standard reports.
- Maintain records and accounts as related to pension benefits.
- Provide support as needed in problem resolution, transaction processing and data management.
- Comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and assist in the development of future SOPs.
- Manage the physical pension mail as well as the Pension email box
Qualifications:- Bachelor Degree or 1-3 years of benefits experience or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of defined benefits plan design.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Verbal/Written).
- Ability to organize, set priorities, work independently and complete multiple projects/tasks with established deadlines.
- Maintain high level of confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Where is the work: Hybrid: (updated 6/21/2024) This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
Compensation: Base Pay Range: $45,000 to $60,000Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
