This position reports to and partners with the People and Culture Manager to gain a complete understanding of the strategies and initiatives of the department. This role will be responsible for executing a variety of P&C (HR) activities with a focus primarily on pre-boarding, recruiting, onboarding, supporting employee relations, learning and development, employee life cycle changes, and HRIS support. The People & Culture Generalist will also assist in executing the administration of programs, procedures, and policies of the organization.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:Recruiting:* Creates position announcements and posts open requisitions.* Assist with development of standardized questions, screening candidates and performing some screening interviews.* Process candidate screening in Applicant Tracking System and forwarding candidates to appropriate supervisors as well as ensuring that all candidates receive updates.* Coordinate as well as schedule in person interviews with team (e.g. calendar invitations, email with GMPs as well as directions, etc.) and attend interviews as needed.* Manages communications with staffing agencies and temporary staffing processes (hires/termination).* Attends Career Fairs and remains flexible to support other, progressive recruitment efforts.* Assist with DEI efforts and assist with a diverse as well as successful workforce.Preboarding:* Work with supervisors on next steps and completing appropriate forms as well as system documentation.* Assist with candidate dispositions and offer process, ensure offer letter is accurately completed as well as sent to candidate.* Perform Background Screening and ensure that there are no disqualifications with the background report.* After filing signed offer letter, send welcome email, ensure new hire forms are provided to employee prior to starting and scheduling New Hire Orientation.Onboarding:* Support employee onboarding processes, ensuring employees are set up to succeed from the moment of hire, which includes Paycor training to all new hires (mobile app usage, benefit portal, time-off module, etc.).* Assist with completion of new hire forms, benefits and other company questions, etc.* Facilitate New Hire Orientation and maintain an updated presentation as well as welcome packets.* Support employee lifecycle events, including employee records maintenance, service awards and terminations (service award program maintenance & exit process ownership).* Provide back-up support for the Coffee IQ Sessions and work with the team to ensure that employees receive their Welcome Boxes within the appropriate time frame.HRIS Management:* Perform life cycle changes for employees in HRIS such as promotions, wage or COLA increases, department transfers, terminations, etc.* Audit onboarding profiles, which includes I-9, W-4, etc. and ensure proper set-up for payroll.* Assist with working with vendor on maintenance and proper function of the system.* Aid with reporting tools and pulling as well as scheduling reports in the HRIS.* Provide data as well as reports from HRIS and pertinent information such as turnover analysis, diversity, etc.Training and Development:* Provide back-up for the assignment of Alchemy Training Modules and check system to ensure employees have completed their required training.* Ensure compliance and that all employees have accomplished all required safety as well as job specific training.* Support training to managers and employees for HR systems, leadership development and compliance related topics, etc.* Support and manage the Leadership Training Program.Employee Relations:* Assist in designing, implementing, and administering people and culture policies; support employees and managers with related questions, interpreting and explaining policies.* Provide support in employee investigations and ensuring compliance as well as a safe environment for all.* Assist with Coaching, Disciplinary Actions and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for employees; recognizing patterns in coaching and determining need for Disciplinary Action to ensure that employee improves performance.* Partner with management to communicate new or reinforce policies, procedures, and programs. Advises managers and supervisors regarding appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.* Assists the managers and supervisors with the administration of annual performance reviews and compensation processes.* Provide leave administration assistance for employees and ensure state and federal compliance.* Reports and manages Workers Compensation claims with carrier and provides managers with claim information regarding restrictions and return to work, which include modified job descriptions, light duty offer letters, etc.* Work closely with Archbright for reports of injury and with Operations to promote as well as ensure a safe work environment through participation and guidance of Safety Committee.* Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws.Performance Management and Retention:* Collaborate with manager and team on the Performance Review Process as well as help to provide compensation analysis for annual increases.* Assist with the Compensation Packages at Cascade to ensure competitive packages are offered to employees and help with retention.* Support the set-up of employees and ensuring accurate information.* Provide training to managers and employees on accessing Paycor, utilizing the application and login information.* Provide assistance with reporting tools and pulling as well as scheduling reports in the HRIS.* Assist with retention efforts and management of incentive programs.People and Culture Misc.:* Provide employee support and answer questions on various company aspects such as benefits, HRIS access, updating W-4, W-2, jury duty letters, etc.* Assists in administration and brainstorming for various People & Culture initiatives and events.* Continually seeks to improve processes and to refine methods of job performance.* Upholds and provides safe, high-quality, consistent products, and superior services that anticipate, meet, or exceed the requirements of our customers.* Participate on the company sponsored events committee, boosting employee morale through fun and engaging activities.Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:* 3-5 years' experience in HR field with focus on employee relations, health and welfare programs, recruiting, and compliance with federal and state programs (e.g., FMLA, state leave, workers compensation).* Human Resources or related degree preferred or equivalent experience.* HR Certification (PHR or SHRM) preferred.* Work well under pressure; meet critical monthly, quarterly and year end deadlines.* High degree of organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required to efficiently accomplish work assignments.* Proficient in Microsoft products (e.g., Office 365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS (e.g. Paycor).PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:* Exceptional analytical and organizational skills needed to plan and implement assignments and to work through consistent interruptions.* Possess a strategic mindset but hands on attitude with the ability to address complex problems and propose viable solutions.* Excellent oral and written communications skills required.WORK ENVIROMENT AND EQUIPMENT:* This job is located within the corporate office, in an indoor environment.* This position may occasionally support work in the warehouse roasting facility that requires constant standing on concrete floors, exposed to loud equipment noise and subject to coffee dust strong odors.* Personal protection equipment and other Good Manufacturing Practices are mandatory.WORK HABITS:* Requires high degree of discretion regarding access to confidential data and will not disclose or divulge, either directly or indirectly, the confidential information to others unless authorized to do so.* Regular attendance and promptness are a requirement for this position.* This job requires a high degree of teamwork and leadership skills.Cascade coffee is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity.
