POSITION SUMMARY

The People & Culture Manager (PCM) is responsible for executing upon the People strategy to support the strategic direction of the People & Culture Team. As a hands-on approach leader, the PCM will lead the People & Culture Team by executing people policies, initiatives and programs that support a culture of engagement. The PCM will focus on serving the needs of employees and leaders through their entire employee life cycle, that includes managing the day-to-day responsibilities of employee relations, recognition, engagement, diversity, equity &inclusion, performance management, benefits, payroll, compensation & retirement administration, departmental talent development, talent acquisition and human resources analytics & reporting. As a trusted advisor, the PCM will build effective partnerships by creating trust and mutual respect for others and making solid people business decisions. The PCM will lead a staff of three to four human resources professionals

Essential Functions & Additional Responsibilities

20% Employee Relations/Engagement -Manage employee relations matters that may include coaching, counseling, performance improvement plans, investigations, etc. to minimize risk to the organization and to enhance a collaborative work environment. Implement and maintain employee programs that foster engagement, efficiencies, diversity, equity, inclusion and effectiveness in the employee and member experience.

20% Performance Management - Support employees and leaders through the annual performance management review process, which includes the use of technology to capture the end user experience, monthly coaching sessions, merit and incentive processes, and bi-annual compensation administration reviews to remain competitive.

20% Benefits, Payroll, Compensation and Retirement Administration - Oversee the payroll process and reporting outcomes to ensure employees are paid according to guidelines, regulatory compliance at the federal, state, and local laws. Manage day-to-day compensation, benefits, and retirement programs to support employee retention with the least expense to the organization. Oversee billing reconciliation process, 401K processing and reporting and wellness initiatives to enhance the health and well-being of our employees

15% Leading Departmental Talent - Hires, trains, directs and evaluates employee performance and behaviors to serve the member experience. Allocates resources to meet operational needs within the department. Provides leadership, coaching, and direction for their team members ensuring they have the support and development opportunities to become well-trained employees excelling in their roles

10% Talent Acquisition - Manage the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process for attracting and hiring quality talent to support the member experience. Partner with hiring managers to address hiring challenges to determine appropriate solutions. Support various initiatives to support the credit union's employer brand.

10% Human Resources Analytics and Reporting - Analyze trends and metrics through review of various surveys (i.e., onboarding, top companies, engagement, and benefits surveys) to provide the appropriate workplace support, develop solutions, programs, policies, to foster increased engagement.

5% Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field obtained through a formal 4-year program at an accredited educational facility preferred or equivalent experience.

Experience:

Minimum 5-8 years related experience in Human Resources or related experience required. PHR, CP , SPHR or SCP desirable. Proficient knowledge in Employment law that support federal, state, and local laws.

* Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise.

* Excellent presentation skills, confident in all settings with individuals at all levels of the organization both internal and external.

* Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to: U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
