JOB TITLE: PeoriaCorps Program Director

DEPARTMENT: Equal Opportunity Office

LOCATION: 813 SW Washington Street, Peoria, Illinois

HOURS: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Monday through Friday

(Some evenings and weekends required)

SALARY: 2024 Management Grade 121 $69,356 to $96,190

The PeoriaCorps Crew Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and implementing classroom training and fieldwork for program participants. Classroom Curriculum is centered on Green Infrastructure Maintenance, Employability skills training, and general knowledge of green infrastructure and native landscapes; Fieldwork will focus on surface level maintenance of the City's green infrastructure installations and other public greenspaces.

DEADLINE BY 5:00PM - MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2024 Examples of Duties
  • Coordinate the work schedule with other Program Director and other City Staff.
  • Train participants in proper maintenance techniques and protocols.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the crew.
  • Supervise participants during their work in the field.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of Corps Member time.
  • Manage tool and supply inventory.
  • Responsible for grant required on performance measures and project outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license and good driving record. College degree in landscape architecture, agriculture, engineering, or other closely related field. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Candidate must be NGICP certified or able to complete certification upon hire. Must pass the AmeriCorps required background check and fingerprinting prior to hire. Preferences

  • Previous work experience (1-3 years) in ecological services, park management, natural resources, or landscape horticulture.
  • Experience working with disadvantaged populations preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
