Required Qualifications (as evidenced by attached resume):Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). One (1) year of full-time grants management experience. Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets to manage, track, and account expenditures. Experience in researching and resolving budget and compliance issues. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid NYS Driver's License; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations.

Proficiency in business intelligence reporting systems such as RF Report Center, ERAS, SUNY BI, SBU Reporting, and/or Wolfmart, and grant submission portals, such as MyResearch, Grants.gov, and/or Research.gov. Experience working with federal, state, local and other sponsors. Familiarity with Peconic Estuary Partnership (PEP). Knowledge of natural resource related projects including habitat restoration, wildlife monitoring, water quality improvement, or other related areas. Project management experience.
Brief Description of Duties:The Peconic Estuary Partnership (PEP) Grants Manager will support the management of multiple sponsored awards, under the direction of Principal Investigator and Executive Director. This position will directly support new and ongoing grants projects and will liaise between PEP and Stony Brook University's Office of Grants Management and Office of Sponsored Programs to manage a dynamic portfolio of funded grants. The successful incumbent will have strong communications skills and the ability to present educational materials to general audiences. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple
- Pre-Award Management:
- Participate in project and budget planning.
- Prepare funding proposals and award modifications in the myResearch platform.
- Develop budget justifications and supplemental administrative documents for funding proposals.
- Liaise with Sponsored Programs and SoMAS grants personnel as needed.
- Post-Award Management:
- Monitor grant expenditures, disencumber outdated purchase orders / encumbrances, ensure recoverable costs have been charged, request IDC analyses, and maximize the use of unencumbered grants balances prior to grant close-out.
- Prepare and submit all administrative and financial grant transactions, liaising with Grants Management, Payroll, Travel, and Accounts Payable as needed to resolve administrative obstacles and / or discrepancies.
- Prepare all documentation associated with personnel transactions (e.g. recruitment, hiring, reappointing, promotions, terminations, etc.), including coordinating necessary visa applications.
- Initiate no cost extensions (NCE), budget modifications, award reporting, and other appropriate post-award actions.
- Project Management:
- Manage PEP Mini-Grant Program, including the management of all projects and associated contracts.
- Oversee PEP subawards including all reporting and deliverables and invoicing.
- Keep detailed spreadsheets of project schedules to ensure they remain on time.
- Attend and participate in weekly PEP meetings, and others as directed.
- Communication:
- Collaborate with Outreach and Communications Manager to ensure progress of all projects is up-to-date for PEP Committee reporting, web-based reporting, and required grant reporting.
- Assist with PEP social media pages; help to create a robust online presence.
- Collaborate with PEP Outreach Team to create fact sheets, development content for newsletters, educational signage, and other materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
