Job DescriptionJob Description:Responsible for receiving incoming telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner, greeting patients, verifying demographic/insurance, collecting co-payments/deductibles, and various clerical duties.Job Responsibility:
- Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls, and if appropriate routes them appropriately.
- Organizes messages and delivers them promptly to the necessary individual.
- Greet patients and guests in a courteous and professional manner.
- Verify insurance coverage and demographic information.
- Obtain insurance referrals and authorizations.
- Direct patients to appropriate waiting or clinical areas.
- Explain financial obligation to patients or responsible parties and collect. copayments/co-insurance/deductibles as required.
- Facilitate or create appointments for follow-up care, diagnostics procedures, physical therapy, or pain management.
- Other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
- Varying shifts between the hours of: 7:30am - 8pm
- 1-2 late nights (11:30am-8pm) required
- Rotating weekend (1/month) required
Job Qualification:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
- Minimum one year of relevant experience working in a medical facility or related field.
- Minimum one year experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a health care environment.
