**JOB SUMMARY**The Medical Technologist Lead at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for assisting the supervisor with scheduling, quality control, maintenance programs, and work flow organization. This role also includes ensuring the accurate and efficient transportation of lab-related supplies, equipment, and specimens while adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.**JOB** **FUNCTIONS**Supervision:* Coordinates work flow of phlebotomists in Specimen Processing area.* Serves as Charge Medical Technologist (MT) in absence of supervisor or Lead MT.Distribution and Transportation:* Assures accurate and efficient transportation of lab-related supplies, equipment and specimens.* Follows all laws and regulations in the processing and transportation of laboratory specimens.Specimen Handling & Processing:* Follows regulatory guidelines in handling/processing of laboratory specimens.* Follows proper policy for accurate patient identification and labeling of all specimens.Communication:* Effectively communicate with all NMHS staff, patients, their family members and customers.Customer Service:* Uses AIDET as applicable.* Attends CARES training.* When necessary, assures proper service recovery is done for patients and/or caregivers.* Answers telephone in an polite and efficient manner.
