Location: Virginia Beach, VAWorksite: On-sitePosition: Part-time Duties:
- Provide one-on-one and group percussion instruction to Navy and Marine Corps musicians.
- Conduct weekly lessons, eachlasting 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- Perform administrative tasks, including updating instructional materials and maintaining student records.
- Administer proficiency assessments for students.
- Develop lesson plans to address students' strengths and weaknesses.
- Utilize NAVSOM's curriculum in classical, jazz, and commercial music styles.
- Develop and deliver remedial training for students with substandard performance.
- Prepare students for performance assessments.
Requirements:
- Master of Music in Music Education and/or Performance (DMA preferred) or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
- Experience in both classical and commercial music styles.
- Proficiency in ear training and music theory.
- Ability to carry musical instruments up to 40 pounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
