Job Title: Percussion Technician (Battery or Front Ensemble)Reports to: Director of Percussion / Head Band DirectorCalendar: Mid-July - NovHours per Week: 12 - 20Dept./School: High School and Middle School CampusesPRIMARY PURPOSEAs an integral part of the marching band staff, Percussion Technican helps in rehearsal planning and in implementing a percussion pedagogy program in conjunction with the Director of Percussion. QUALIFICATIONSSpecial Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong leader in percussion performance and best practices
  • Excellent skills in percussion pedagogy and performance
  • Ability to work with students
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:Extensive experience in the marching arts (DCI, WGI, college marching band, etc.)MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESEssential Functions
  • Assist in implementing marching/music technique in a full ensemble and sectional setting.
  • Assist in teaching and cleaning drill responsibilities.
  • Attend all competitions as needed by the Director of Bands.
  • Attend all rehearsals during the course of the season as agreed upon by Director of Bands.
  • Attend Percussion Camp and summer band rehearsals. Dates and times determined by Director of Bands.

  • Comply with policies and regulations established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student and coworker information and as required by FERPA.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
