JobID: 175729 In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Performance Improvement Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, development, organization, implementation, and evaluation of the Trauma Injury Prevention Program and EMS outreach. The work involves defining the best methods for addressing identified injury prevention needs through the utilization of the Trauma Registry and raising the visibility of the Trauma Injury Prevention. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times. *Job Functions:* * Develops, creates, and coordinates community outreach and prevention programs for targeted populations by utilizing the Trauma Registry Data. * Actively participates in both internal and external trauma prevention and outreach committees and groups at the local, regional, state, and/or national level. * Informs and discusses plans/schedules for Trauma education, injury prevention, and outreach activities with the Trauma Program Manager. * Maintains accurate records of all injury prevention activities * Collaborates with the Trauma Medical Director, and Trauma Program Manager, as well and various departments to assure successful implementation of projects. * Serves as an alternate to the monthly county EMS association meetings and assists with coordination of education outreach to pre-hospital providers. * Performs loop closure with EMS departments and keeps an accurate log of the information. * Monitors Performance Improvement for Memorial Health System Trauma Activations. * Analyzes and interprets trauma chart information and determines course of action based on research, data, and standards of care and general guidelines/protocols. * Accrue trauma-related CE's during verification cycle per American College of Surgeon guidelines. * Attends Trauma System Committee Meetings. * Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary. *Minimum Education/Experience Required:* * Current licensure in the State of Ohio as a Registered Nurse required. * Certified in BLS required upon hire; ACLS, PALS, TNCC required within one year of employment. * Minimum of one year of experience working in a designated trauma system is required. * Within one year of hire, must be certified as a Stop the Bleed instructor, become a Matter of Balance Coach, and attend an Injury Prevention Course. * Within two years of hire, must be certified as a TNCC instructor and attend Disaster Management and Emergency Preparedness (DMEP) course. * Maintains compliance in RQI required. *Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:* * Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships. * Ability to accept and implement change. * Ability to problem solve and make decisions; possession of critical thinking, analytical, teaching/coaching and research skills. *Compensation Details: * Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. *Benefits: *Memorial Health System is proud to offer an affordable, comprehensive benefit package to all full time and flex time employees.
