Job Description:

The Permitting Coordinator under the supervision of the lead COP position, will:

  • Support the preparation of permitting applications, requests for approval and authorizations, and COP materials in compliance with regulations and guidelines and
  • Contribute towards tasks to ensure permit applications and permitting documents are completed on time
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Environmental Studies/Science/Policy, Conservation Biology, Sustainability, Public Policy, or a related field
  • 1-2 years' experience with offshore environmental and ecological programs
  • Understanding of permitting processes related to NEPA compliance and other related federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Knowledge of US regulations and policies (e.g., NEPA, MMPA, MBTA, ESA, MSFCMA)
  • Knowledge of clean energy issues, ideally related to offshore wind
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels within a company and externally to diverse audiences and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly communicate key information
  • Innovative, proactive, and responsible
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Team player with ability to work collaboratively across complex project teams and interface between interdisciplinary departments Activities

* Coordinate with internal team members to communicate tasks, time lines, and resources to ensure timely delivery of necessary information and documentation needed to support development of permitting packages, including application materials and supporting documentation and data;* Support and coordinate with the permitting team with interfaces to state permitting efforts;* Coordinate with consultants to request or share data and information to support agency coordination, COP and other permit package and application preparation, and environmental reviews;* Support the project's coordination with the lead federal agency (BOEM), and other agency and stakeholder coordination, during the development of the COPs and other permit applications and to request or share data and information;* Maintain SharePoint libraries for managing documents, data, and other project-related records and information;* Perform other tasks and takes on additional duties as reasonably assigned by supervisor, project manager and/or group unit; and* Report to NYC office 3 days per week with willingness to travel on a periodic basis, including across project and company offices and to meet with permitting stakeholders and other key interest groups.
