We are looking to hire a dedicated and skilled personal chef to prepare organic, gluten-free plant-based meals for our client. The client would like 2-3 meals/day, 4-5 days per week for two people. Occasionally they may request additional meals or a three-course meal if guests are visiting. The minimum commitment is six months, starting immediately. The meals may be prepared in their kitchen located in Napa, or in your kitchen and delivered twice a week. The client is undergoing chemotherapy and will need appropriate meals, ranging from broth and simple foods to heavier calorie, more flavorful meals. Personal Chef Responsibilities: • Conferring with clients to determine their meal preferences, specifications, food allergies, and dietary restrictions. • Preparing customized meal plans for clients based on their preferences, specifications, and dietary needs. • Receiving feedback and making improvements or changes where necessary. • Shopping for meal ingredients as well as necessary kitchen tools and equipment. • Inspecting meal ingredients before making purchases to ensure that they are of the highest quality. • Preparing meals in clients' kitchens or your own in accordance with food health and safety regulations. • Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner. • Cleaning and sanitizing work areas before and after meal preparation and taking care of leftovers. • Appropriately packaging and labeling prepared meals that are to be consumed at a later date. • Providing clients with written or verbal instructions on how to heat meals. Personal Chef Requirements: • High school diploma or GED. • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in culinary arts is preferred. • Proven culinary experience, particularly with plant-based and gluten-free diets. • Sound knowledge of different cuisines as well as food health and safety regulations. • A strong understanding of plant-based nutrition. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Effective communication • Detail-oriented.
