SHIMONOV LAW is looking

for an experienced and aggressive Personal Injury Attorney (minimum 5 years of experience)

handling all aspects of personal injury litigation including:

Our attorneys specialize in handling and examining bodily injury claims for Auto Insurance companies or who have experience negotiating with Auto Insurance companies.

In addition, we provide our clients with representation in Workers Compensation Medical Malpractice Product Defects Negligence Premises Liability

We REQUIRE at least FIVE years' experience in plaintiff's personal injury litigation.

Trial experience is not required but highly desired.

Must be able to work full time in our Queens, New York office.

Managing a caseload of 50+ cases acting as the lead attorney through all aspects of litigation

from filing through trial

Developing case strategies and theories

Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents

Taking and defending depositions including plaintiff, defendant, experts, and more

Engaging in settlement negotiations

Acting as first or second chair in trials

Maintaining client communication to provide updates on case progress

Overseeing and directing Paralegal and other support staff

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS | SKILLS

• Handle high-exposure, catastrophic personal injury cases, with a focus on product liability and general negligence.
• Primarily summary judgement motions. Experience a must. NY Labor Law a focus.
• Conduct legal research using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to support case preparation
• Collaborate on complex litigation matters, including drafting original motions and other legal documents.
• Review and summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, and other relevant documents
• Interview clients and witnesses to gather necessary information for case development
• Motion preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness affidavits.
• Coordinate with experts, court reporters, and other third parties as needed
• Conduct and defend expert and witness depositions.
• Manage discovery requests and responses for various parties.
• Complying with discovery demands
• Develop and maintain client relationships through effective communication.
• Prepare for trial, including drafting motions, exhibit lists, and witness lists.
• Drafting pleadings
• Drafting and arguing complex motions
• Defending and conducting depositions, EUOs and 50-H hearings
• Court appearances
• Settlement negotiations and mediation

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Personal Injury Attorney in New York.

Trial Experience is a PLUS

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Active New York bar membership in good standing

Proven track record of successfully managing a caseload and resolving high-value cases

High ethical standards and commitment to professional integrity.

Proficiency in legal case management software (e.g., Smart Advocate) and research tools (e.g., Lexitas, Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw)

Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Must have excellent communication skills, be organized, pay attention to detail, have a positive attitude, and be able to work both independently and with supervising attorneys.

Supervise your team consisting of a case manager, case admin, and medical lien negotiator.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow directions as needed
• Ability to interact with the public in a courteous manner.
• Culturally sensitive and able to work with a multicultural client/customer population
• Bilingual (Spanish) Speaking. A+ Plus
• Must pass a criminal background check prior to beginning employment
• Must be a US citizen or Documented worker.
