JOB IDENTIFICATION:
Job Title: Personal Trainer- Prairie Lakes
Grade: Specialty - $25.00-$40.00
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Department: Recreation
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Athletics & Facilities Manager
BASIC FUNCTION: The responsibilities include the planning, organization and implementation and sales of personal training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
* Conduct fitness analyses in accordance with adopted guidelines, policies, and procedures
* Maintain personal training sessions in written form
* Records and submits accurate payroll cards
* Assist personal training participants and maintains safe exercise environment for all participants
* Offer a comprehensive balance of fitness training for all ages and interest areas of the community
* Attend Personal Training meetings, facility meetings and park district meetings
* Attend approved continuing education seminars and workshops
* Engage, initiate relationship with members
* Participate in orientations as needed for new members
* Adhere to established policies and procedures in instructing classes and small groups
* Communicating to clients need to re-purchase, cancelation policy
* Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with staff members, maintenance personnel, administrative personnel, and general public
* Assist guests in a professional manner. Provides information in response to public inquiries and directs specific inquiries to other staff as needed
* Responsible to uphold the District's commitment to safety, promptly reporting accidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor, and complying with the District's safety policies
OTHER DUTIES:
* Provide for reasonable accommodations for participants and personnel in accordance with the American with Disabilities Act
* Attend professional conferences, seminars, workshops, and/or classes to remain current on trends and innovations in the field of parks and recreation.
* Direct patrons in the event of an emergency such as severe weather or fire
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
* Report maintenance needs as observed.
* Follow all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Park District Safety and Crisis Manuals
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
Experience: 1 - 3 years' experience in personal training or related fitness field required
Certifications: Requires one of the following certifications: ACE, NSCA, NASM, ACSM or any other NCAA accredited certifications
First Aid, CPR and AED certification required within 6 months
