Job Description and Duties This position is limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent. This advertisement is for a Personnel Supervisor I position located at Sierra Conservation Center in Jamestown, Tuolumne County. Under the general supervision of the Personnel Supervisor II, the Personnel Supervisor I is responsible to supervise and provide technical assistance to Personnel Specialists, performing personnel and payroll duties engaged in maintaining an active roster of full-time, part-time, and intermittent positions. The Personnel Supervisor I will review all transactions processed in the unit and assist the Personnel Supervisor II and Staff Services Manager I with the more complex duties applying to departmental policies. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

Working Conditions About this location -- Sierra Conservation Center (SCC) is located in the foothills near Jamestown, California, in the heart of the Mother Lode Gold Country.It is adjacent to the Stanislaus National Forest, offering pine trees, mountain streams, and an abundance of recreational activities (fishing, swimming, camping, skiing, golfing, etc.).The prison is approximately 70 miles from Yosemite National Park. The primary mission of SCC is to provide housing, programs and services for minimum and medium custody incarcerated individuals, to aid in their rehabilitation. SCC is responsible for the training and placement of male incarcerated individuals in the Conservation Camp Program.
