What you will do:
In this important Human Resources role, you will have the opportunity to make an impact on the hiring of our critical class positions, which protect the vulnerable, promote strong and economically self-sufficient families, and advance personal and family recovery and resiliency. We are seeking proactive and organized candidates to support crucial administrative tasks.
This position requires that you work on-site.
How you will make an impact:
* Prepare and submit human resource appointment and separation actions in accordance with the State Personnel Rules and Department policies and operating procedures.
* Coordinate completion of hiring process activities with selected candidates to include preparing and compiling appointment and separation documentation and submission to the appropriate human resources team for processing and coordinate required background screenings, conducts reference checks and personnel file reviews.
* Conduct other due diligence/required checks/screenings.
* Maintain and file the recruitment and selection package for required retention period.
* Answer incoming phone calls and provide general information/technical assistance to candidates and transfers/escalates to appropriate team member and/or management.
* Ensure required action is entered into the appropriate information system/tracking database. Review and accurately process any required actions associated with Recruitment in accordance with the applicable statute, rule, procedure, policy and/or internal process(es). Assist with creating or review of reports to ensure system information is accurate and resolve errors by system correction and/or recommends solutions.
* Assist other administrative offices, IT and Program with new hire onboarding activities for positive first day experience.
* May assist hiring specialists with scheduling interviews and dispositioning of candidates in applicable systems.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Three years of administrative or clerical work experience. College or vocational school can substitute for the required experience.
* A high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required work experience.

Preferences:
* Experience, education or training in hiring, employee recruitment and selection activities.
* Experience with DCF HR systems, People First Talent Management System, and MS Office Excel and Word.
* Knowledge of Department of Children & Families' services related to child welfare, adult protection, economic self-sufficiency, or mental health treatment facilities direct care.
