**Duties**

Independently plans work sequences and conducts trouble shooting inspections of buildings and grounds for evidence of conditions conducive to damage and infestation by insect, rodents, predatory animals, unwanted vegetation and other pests.

Exercise a high degree of responsibility to assure a variety of hazardous pesticide are mixed and applied in accordance with applicable Federal and State requirements.

Uses suitable Integrated Pest Management (IPM) control method to reduce and control hazards to the public health, unwanted vegetation and harmful insects that would cause damage to the Golf Course.

Operates a variety of vehicles, power and hand operated applicators in applying pesticides. Perform maintenance on pest control equipment to ensure it is in a safe operating condition.

Maintain stock level of pest control materials. Coordinates with the Golf Course facility manager, supervisor and superintendent concerning Integrated Pest Management (IPM) control procedures including all golf course areas, common grounds and structures that require pest control.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

**Qualifying Experience:**

Must know Federal and State laws and requirements which deal with mixing, application, disposal of restricted use of pesticides, such as the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and the Occupational Safety and Health ACT (OSHA). Must meet the competency certification criteria outlined in 40 CFR Part 171-Certification of Pesticide Applicators. A degree in Turf Management is desirable. Must have experience in advanced principles and procedures of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) including chemical control, precise surveys, and parasite and predator usage. Skill in pesticide and toxic chemical disposal including the proper use of safety procedures.

* **According to Executive Order 14043, Guidance on Applying Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination Requirements to New Hires : New Department of the Air Force civilian employees must be fully vaccinated by their entry on duty (start) date or November 22, 2021, whichever is later.
