Previous Pharmaceutical experience is mandatory for this role.

MMR Consulting is an engineering and consulting firm specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Its services include Engineering, Project Management, and other Consulting services. MMR's Engineering expertise includes Process, Automation, Facilities engineering. Pharmaceutical expertise includes Oral Solid Dosage, Semi-Solids, Liquid-Dosage (TS and Aseptic), API manufacturing, Biotechnology (Vaccines, Blood Plasma Fractions, Monoclonal Antibodies).

This is an outstanding opportunity to join our growing team, where the successful candidate will work with a group of engineers and specialists involved in project management, commissioning and qualification, of equipment, systems and facilities.

This role is for Pharma Lab Scientist to work with one of our clients in Los Angeles area, California. The ideal candidate will execute process development projects, process improvement, scale down, technology transfer, and support of manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs experiments in small scale to assess process changes/improvements.
  • Evaluates performance and suitability of new technologies and process changes by testing and reporting different critical parameters.
  • Performs trials and experiments, participate into the design and scale-up of new technologies.
  • Conducts routine bases analytical tests to evaluate and control product yield, purity and impurity profiles.
  • Works closely with other Lab team members to support the upkeep, maintenance, and efficient utilization of the lab.
  • Write SOPs, batch records, and develop research outlines for development projects.
  • Utilize robust statistical analysis to draw appropriate conclusions from the data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with at least 2+ year's relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of protein purification techniques. Experience in protein process development.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools for analysis of proteins.
  • Experience with DOE (design of experiments), six sigma, and lean manufacturing a plus.
  • Knowledge of GMPs.
  • Able to work in cold, wet environment. Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body.
  • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends.
