The Pharmacist Information Systems specializes in the medication process, from ordering to administration, and is responsible for effective process design, development, and implementation of the Electronic Medical Record and Clinical Decision Support. Assists the department manager and staff by providing data (clinical and business related) derived from automation technology in order to make sound operational decisions. Serves as a liaison to all technology vendors, Information Systems, Patient Safety, Nursing and other departments as required. Orchestrates, conducts and maintains records of training related to pharmacy automation and technology. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining all databases, formulaties, billing, and reporting with respect to pharmacy.The position also requires, as needed by the Pharmacy department, to fulfill the duties of a staff pharmacist including order entry, drug utilization, renal dosing, pharmacokinectics, preparing and dispensing medications, verification of medications, acting as a resource/educating staff regarding medications, and communicaiton with nursing/physicians. Continuously improves proficiency and knowledge.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional/Educational
Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
Current pharmacy licensure issued by the State of Illinois (30 hour CEU's included) with biennial renewal.
DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.
Minimum 5 years hospital & pharmacy informatics experience preferred.
