Responsible for monitoring drug therapy, providing drug information and education to patients and staff, and participation in hospital wide activities that relate to quality of care in drug therapy.Responsibilities:Dresses appropriately.Demonstrates ability to work independently and collaborates with all department members.All members of the Pharmacy Department will be treated with respect and will work as a teamWork at the top of your pharmacy licenseUtilizes appropriate resources acknowledging limits of knowledge or skills.Recognize that the Primary Care, Emergency Department, Operating room, ASU and the Infusion Center or the Pharmacy Department customersAll Pharmacy Department customers will be treated with respect and fulfilling their requestAll members of the Pharmacy Department will work together to provide the best pharmaceutical services to our patientsDemonstrates ability to work independently and collaborates with all department members.Reviews all drug regimens on a daily basis, and prior to dispensing whenever possibleDemonstrates ability to tactfully handle difficult situationsUtilizes appropriate resources acknowledging limits of knowledge or skills.Demonstrates knowledge of department, operations, policies and procedures.Actively contributed to Organization wide, Division wide and departmental quality activitiesMonitors daily controlled substance usage to ensure the patient received the right dose and all waste is documentedObserves safety rules/regulations/policies and procedures.Resolve all Pyxis discrepancies in a timely manner and report all shortages of controlled substances immediately.Ensure all pharmaceuticals purchased from the department's wholesaler is bought at the lowest price possiblePurchase all qualified medications under the departments 340b contractEnsure that each departments Pyxis medications discrepancies are charge to the appropriate departmentMonitor the number of items on the pharmacy shelves and change par levels based on demandWork with other member of the pharmacy department to ensure budget expenses flow with department revenuesUnderstand and embrace medical Accountable Care Organization within Northern Light HealthBecome proficient in doing Infusion Center Patients Pre-Certification and Prior Authorizations of medications.Understand Medical Population Management is and support this with in the OrganizationOther Information:Competencies and SkillsBehaves with Integrity and Builds Trust: Acts consistently in line with the core values, commitments and rules of conduct.
