Job Overview

Pride Health is hiring a Pharmacist (Hospital) to support our client's medical facility in New York and other locations. This is a 13-week assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Summary:

A hospital pharmacist is a healthcare professional responsible for managing and optimizing the use of medications within a hospital setting. They work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure that patients receive the most appropriate and effective medication therapy. Hospital pharmacists play a key role in ensuring the safe administration of drugs, providing medication counseling, and monitoring patient responses to treatments. They are involved in clinical decision-making and support patient care by ensuring accurate dosing, minimizing adverse drug reactions, and improving therapeutic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medications accurately for hospitalized patients according to prescriptions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and adjust medication regimens based on patient needs.
  • Provide counseling to patients and staff regarding proper medication use and potential side effects.
  • Monitor patients for adverse drug reactions and ensure appropriate interventions.
  • Conduct drug therapy reviews and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Advise on the proper use of intravenous medications and other specialized therapies.
  • Maintain accurate patient medication records and support clinical documentation.
  • Provide guidance on drug interactions, contraindications, and dosing adjustments.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of hospital-wide medication safety initiatives.
  • Participate in hospital committees, drug formulary decisions, and continuous education programs.
  • Manage inventory of medications and ensure the proper storage and handling of drugs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or PHd in Pharmacy required
  • Pharmacist license issued by NYSED (New York State Education Department)
  • BLS from AHA required
  • Sterile processing and IV room experience preferred
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and stress management skills.

Additional Information:

  • Location: New York and other locations
  • Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract
  • Shifts: 8 hours shift
  • Weekly Pay: $2800-$3000 (Travel pay) $2700 (local pay)

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
