RequirementsDuties & ResponsibilitiesProvide supervision for the pharmacy including overseeing pharmacists, technicians, and a distribution team.Manages the workflow processes related to order entry, initial review of orders, and daily and cycle-fill production processes.Monitor industry, regulatory and compliance industry, regulatory and compliance developments (e.g., State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA, etc.) for pending regulatory changes and work with the pharmacy leadership team to address themCommunicate and educate staff on pharmacy-related issues such as regulatory changes/compliance, FDA drug recalls, etc.Carry out policies and procedures for the procurement, storage, security, and disposition of medications in the pharmacy.Maintain all required pharmacy and technician licenses and registrations as required by the state.Work with leadership to respond to the board regarding any warning notice or communication from the state board of pharmacy, DEA, or other regulatory agency.Carry out policies and procedures aligned with organization standards for maintaining integrity and confidentiality of prescription information and patient health care information, and ensure that all employees of the pharmacy read, sign, and comply with policies.Perform and maintain records for all controlled substances and controlled substance prescriptions in the pharmacy.Work with leadership to respond to and resolve all regulatory survey inquiries.Performs all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach.All other duties as assigned by the Tarrytown Expocare leadership team.Skills & AbilitiesMust possess an appropriate New Jersey State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License.Minimum of five years of pharmacy practice with management experience in long-term care preferred.Minimum 2 years of PIC/pharmacy management experience.Experience maintaining regulatory compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies.Experience with pharmacy system conversions is preferred but not required.Excellent project management, communication, and people/organization skills.Demonstrated track record of setting and managing team goals / KPIs, ensuring accountability and a performance-driven culture.Experience redesigning and simplifying workflow processes to improve efficiency and quality.Experience with FrameworkLTC is preferred but not required.Positive personality who can work well within a team.Ability to function well in a high-paced and occasionally stressful environment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Can de-escalate and troubleshoot problems within the pharmacy.Physical RequirementsMust be able to withstand long hours of computer screen time and deskwork.Must be able to stand/be on feet if needed.Available for on-site work and collaboration with other leadership.Tarrytown Expocare is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at our company.
