ScheduleMonday - Friday | 9am – 6pm (must be okay working extended hours during peak season)
Job Description:
- Responsible for assisting Pharmacists in the safe distribution of medications and the provision of pharmaceutical care
- Enter and process new prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system where permitted by pharmacy regulation, and only at the direction of the supervising pharmacist after their review of the prescription
- Process prescription refills to include: refill confirmation when appropriate, review pending refills with the supervising pharmacist, generate refill documentation and process third party claims adjudication
- Checks all orders for completeness of information
- Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization
- Must be able to support Phone calls
- Checks all orders for insurance approval
- Ability to read and interpret prescriptions
- Calculates correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents
Job Requirements/Previous Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1+ YEARS of Healthcare and/or Pharmacy customer service experience
- Type 35+ wpm
- 1+ years of experience in a Data Intake role
- Lift 40 pounds in case support needed in fulfillment
- Exhibit sense of urgency and superb multi-tasking skills
