Finally, being patient-centered, we prioritize the needs and well-being of those we serve, striving to exceed expectations and make a meaningful difference in their lives.A day in the life of this role:Reporting to the Pharmacist in Charge, the Pharmacy Cashier will serve as the first point of contact to customers at our Pharmacies and ensure a positive experience by greeting, answering questions, accepting payment, and assisting with locating merchandise. The incumbent will also be responsible for the appearance of the store by restocking storage areas and replenishing to ensure it is pleasing to the customer. Essential Functions:
  • Greet customers and assist with locating merchandise.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their shopping needs and answering customer inquiries.
  • Complete customer transactions on the cash register.
  • Reconcile cash register drawer at the end of the shift.
  • Ensure the appearance of the store is pleasing to the customer and meets the requirements of the Director of Pharmacy.
  • Restock storage areas, replenishing items on shelves.
  • Stock store shelves and end-caps with merchandise when it is delivered to the store.
  • Accept prescriptions to pass on to the pharmacy staff for processing.
  • Complete inventory counts and order merchandise based on the results.
  • Assist with price markdowns and changes for merchandise on the shelves.
  • Answer telephone inquiries, referring callers to pharmacy staff when necessary.
  • May need to travel to other OCHS Pharmacies as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Non-Essential Functions:
  • Attends periodic staff meetings

QualificationsRequirements and Qualifications:
  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years cashier experience preferred
  • Experience in a customer service role required
  • Interest in healthcare or pharmacology
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a busy work environment.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills; ability to multi-task and reprioritize as necessary.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Attention to detail required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in written and verbal English.
  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately handle and manage confidential and highly sensitive information and communication.
  • Ability to adhere to HIPAA and strict confidentiality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to OCHS sites and work events.
Physical Requirements:This is a sedentary job by nature. Requires being able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and using computers and a phone. May need to travel to multiple sites in a day.Internal and External Contacts:
  • Interfaces regularly with employees in person, on the phone & through email
