Under the direct supervision of a Staff Pharmacist, and assists the Pharmacist in all phases of the Pharmacy. Daily assembles medications and supplies to be used for that day. Fill all unit dose bins from computer generated fill list. Prepares and delivers medication to the automated dispensing machines. Daily delivers cassettes to nursing stations, and exchanges cassettes, and returns to Pharmacy with exchanged cassettes (Park Care Only). Responsible for re-filling all medication bins that have been emptied that day, and keeping the area neat and clean. Delivers medications hourly to nursing stations as needed. Processes drug returns, by placing unopened unit dose medications back into stock, and removing outdated or damaged medications from stock. Fill all stock requests for nursing stations, and assures that all work is checked by a Pharmacist. Places controlled drugs into stock in the safe, and maintains inventory of all classes of controlled substances. Assures that all work is checked by a Pharmacist. Conducts inspections of the Pharmacy and Nursing-Stations as assigned each month. Removes the medications that are expiring or discontinued from the areas as assigned. Maintains all work areas in a neat and orderly fashion. Responsible for reviewing and incorporating the Hospital and Department mission statements in daily work activities. Responsible for reviewing Hospital and Departmental Performance Improvement goals, procedures and models. Performs other related assigned duties. Performs unrelated duties in time of emergency. Maintains all kits and trays prepared by the Pharmacy Department such as ACLS, Pediatric, and Anesthesia trays. Does prepackaging as needed in the Department.
Provide documentation of the Graduation or the completion of High School or of a program for High-School-Equivalency Required); Experience at a Pharmacy in a Hospital (preferred); Provide the documentation of the experience of employment at a Pharmacy and have knowledge of the nomenclature of the Pharmacy (required)
