Job Title: Pharmacy Tech (Part-Time, 19 hours per week)
Hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
closed on weekends and major holidays

Missouri Cancer Associates is proud to be affiliated with Urology Associates of Central Missouri and the US Oncology Network.
Scope: Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist perform technical tasks related to medication preparation, distribution, record-keeping, and inventory control. - All tasks are subject to verification by a registered pharmacist. Comply with the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Note that specific state regulations may require licensed individuals to handle compounding or mixing responsibilities, limiting certain incumbents from performing these tasks
Responsibilities
* Assists with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a registered pharmacist.
* Checks all orders for completeness of information.
* Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization.
* Under direct supervision, admixes drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines, and preparing all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines.
* Calculates correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
* Assists in counting controlled drugs weekly and maintain records.
* Properly disposes all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs.
* Assists in keeping accurate temperature logs, accurate logs on all protocol drugs and patient assistance drugs.
* Maintains proper control documentation of medications including lot numbers.
* Provide support with inventory control of medications.
* Prepares labels. Files and prepares billing.
* Basic data entry into department automation
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement recommended
