* UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 432 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Responsibilities
* The pharmacy technician specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of technician specialty practice areas (billing, diversion, automation, medication history, and others).
* They will provide user support, perform maintenance activities and troubleshooting, monitor proper functionality, and ensure policies and procedures are both documented and followed.
* Coordinates upgrade testing activities, and education, and serves as the subject matter expert for the technician specialty practice area.
* Does related work, as required and, under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical, and non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing, mixing IVs, managing inventory, and assisting in pharmacy operations.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
* High School graduate or GED.
* 1-year experience with identified specialty systems/processes.
* Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by state of employment.
* National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
* Current BLS Certification.
Preferred Job Requirements:
* Associates/bachelor's degree.
* PTCB/ASHP Specialty Credentials (applicable to the specialty practice area).
