Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician II provides technical support and assistance to pharmacists as permitted by state law to ensure all required medications are dispensed accurately and that appropriate documentation of dispensing is maintained.
**Minimum Qualifications**
**Education**
High school diploma required and completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program or two years' experience (hospital setting preferred)
**Licensure/**
**Certification**
Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of employment
Pharmacy technician certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.
**Experience**
Prior experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy preferred.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
Knowledge of drug names, medical terminology.
Basic math skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver excellent customer service to teammates, patients, supervisors and providers.
Attention to detail and a good work ethic.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a high-volume environment.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
Proficient with MS Office and able to learn new pharmacy software rapidly.
**Ability to tolerate latex products and exposure to hazardous drugs.**
**Ability to stand or walk on uncarpeted floors and work in close conditions for duration of shift.**
