SUMMARY Assists Pharmacist with filling prescriptions accurately along with controlling inventory and expenses ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptions
- Receives and stores incoming supplies
- Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
- Bills insurances, understands Medicare
- Translates prescription into the computer system for pharmacist approval
- Inputs prescription orders accurately and in a timely manner according to established departmental guidelines
- Assists in completing and updating medication profiles for patients
- Maintains complete and accurate dispensing or other required records of activity
- Contacts physician offices for refills of continued prescriptions where permitted by state Pharmacy regulations.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with customers including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and vendors
- Complies with all HIPPA laws and regulations
- Keeps up to date with new medications and prescription changes
- Is working towards or holds a pharmacy technician certification
- Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- or one to three months related experience and/or training;
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
