About the Position

* Pharmacy Technician

* Part-time .7-1.0 FTE (56-80 hours per pay period)

* 8-hour shifts, Days, Evenings, Every 6th Weekend

Job Summary:

Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the medication inventory, and maintaining patient records. They work directly under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Here's what you'll do when you join us:

* Prepare and compound drug products and intravenous solutions for pharmacist approval.

* Retrieve and deliver physician orders to the pharmacist for initiation of drug distribution process.

* Deliver and document distribution of narcotics and controlled substances to patient care areas.

* Prepare, deliver, and restock automated drug dispensing system.

* Compound and prepare intravenous drugs and solutions utilizing aseptic techniques.

* Reconcile, charge, and credit patient accounts for drug and intravenous solutions used during hospital admission.

* Maintain stock and inventory of drugs in the pharmacy and on the floor.

* Answer and direct phone calls to the pharmacist or supervisor.

If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat:

* Must be 18 years of age or older.

* Previous hospital/retail pharmacy experience preferred.

* Pharmacy Technician certification or ability to obtain within one year. Maintain required Continuing Education for CPhT certification.

* Pharmacy Technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. Adhere to requirements of the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy for pharmacy technicians.

* Fantastic math skills with the ability to prepare and formulate pharmaceutical products. Demonstrate knowledge of the metric system.

* Great written and spoken communication skills with the ability to work independently.

* Operate personal computer hardware, application software, and basic typing skills.

* Comply with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of Grand Itasc Clinic and Hospital. Demonstrate participation in Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital Mission, Values, and Vision.

* Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
