Job SummaryProvides distributive pharmacy services, assistance, and support for the registered pharmacist. Job Responsibilities
- Processes prescriptions and requests for refills from patients.
- Orders and maintains inventory.
- May communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients in person or via telephone as needed.
- Inputs privileged health information into computer system.
- May refill and maintain automated dispensing system.
- May perform IV fluid activities and IV admixture functions including IV chemotherapy.
- May perform service technician functions including operating rooms by distributing and maintaining room trays and anesthesia boxes.
- May perform narcotic technician functions.
- May perform medication reconciliation
- May perform meds-to-beds
Qualifications
- High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred
- No experience required
- Pharmacy Tech - Registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND
- CPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National HealthCareer Association (NHA) required within 6 months of employment in this position AND
- CPhT-Adv - Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Board of Pharmacy Technician Specialties (BPTS) preferred
