Position Summary:

As a Pharmacy Technician at Northern Light Pharmacy, you are an integral member of the team supporting our mission. Activities may include but are not limited too greeting and assisting patients, checking out customers, insurance billing and processing, preparing prescriptions to be dispensed by the pharmacist, inventory management, completing and filing paperwork, attending trainings and meetings, adhering to all local and federal laws and regulations. NLP is invested in the growth of our team members and offers reimbursement for the successful passage of the CPhT exam, opportunities for additional training and offer a technician pathway for advancement based on performance and years served.
Education & Experience Required:
Pharmacy Technician I
* This is an entry level position for individuals who have less than 1 year of pharmacy experience or equivalent but are motivated to learn new skills and excited to provide exceptional care to our patients.
* This position offers training and advancement opportunities in customer service, medication and medical terminology, prescription data entry, prescription preparation and sales, inventory management and call center support.
* Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
Pharmacy Technician II
* This position is intended for individuals with experience working in a retail pharmacy or equivalent healthcare setting.
* Once confident in NLP specific operations, Pharm Tech II's act as mentors to new staff and support pharmacy leadership with the implementation of training, new processes, and customer service initiatives.
* 1+ year of pharmacy experience or equivalent required.
* National Pharmacy Tech Certification required
* Licensed to administer vaccines preferred
Pharmacy Technician III
* This position is intended for experienced pharmacy technicians who have demonstrated the ability to lead others through training, project/process implementation, collaboration, supporting a positive culture, and adhere to attendance and code of conduct policies and procedures.
* Qualified candidates should have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
* National Pharmacy Tech Certification required
* Licensed to administer vaccines (or ability/willingness to gain licensure) required
* 5+ years working as a pharmacy technician in a community pharmacy preferred
* Associates Degree preferred
Experience Preferred
Previous experience as a community pharmacy technician preferred.
Other Skills Required
Must present a pleasant, friendly, approachable and professional demeanor at all times. Must be able to speak and read English clearly using correct grammar and vocabulary.
Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing, reaching, bending, walking and stretching, hearing /verbal/visual acuity, ability to keyboard for extended periods of time.
Working Environment
The Pharmacy Technician must be able to multi-task in a busy, sometimes stressful community pharmacy engaging directly with patients. The Pharmacy Technician may spend a considerable amount of time in direct patient/customer contact.
