Philanthropy & Events Coordinator (Full or Part Time)Company Overview: The Berkshire Eagle is a multimedia company headquartered in Pittsfield, Massachusetts with additional brands including the Shopper's Guide, The B Magazine, Talon Media, berkshiresweek.com and the Berkshire Business Journal. Revenue initiatives include subscriptions, print/digital advertising, commercial printing and shared services. In 2022, we launched the Berkshire Eagle Local Journalism Fund in conjunction with the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation to assure our sustainability.Position Overview: As the Philanthropy & Events Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in creating and managing our fundraising efforts that impact our local reporting in Berkshire County. Reporting directly to the Publisher, you will be responsible for managing donor outreach, including preparing annual campaign materials, coordinating donor events, tracking donations through management software and managing donor relations. Additional responsibilities include creating and managing other company events, including branded merchandise. This position is currently part-time, but we are open to making it full-time depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Responsibilities:
  • Assist in cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and track donor interactions in the donor management system.
  • Manage event logistics, including venue coordination, vendor relationships, invitations, and follow-up.
  • Support the research and identification of new grant opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public in general, and donors in particular.
  • Experience in fundraising, development, or a related field preferred, but not essential.
  • Proficiency with, or ability to learn, donor management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Event planning experience is a plus.
