Position SummaryUnder direct supervision by department leadership, performs phlebotomy collection of whole blood and apheresis products. Interacts with donors and coordinators, providing a high level of customer service to deliver an excellent donation experience. Takes pride in and is committed to delivering high-quality services. Works cooperatively and is a supportive member of the team/group. Contributes positively to the achievement of team objectives. Incumbent may be responsible for driving, or providing effective interactions with Spanish-speaking donors depending on qualifications and business need.Compensation $17.01/hr+ based on experienceBenefits eligible including medical/dental/vision insurance options, 7% 401(k) match, EAP, employee wellness program, generous PTO, and more.Shift differentials for evenings/weekends: Evenings (after 6:00pm) - $1.50/hr.Weekends - $2.00/hr. Skill-based percentage increases offered for advanced phlebotomy skills training Schedule Must have availability during center hours: Monday: 8:30am to 7:00pmTuesday: 10:00am to 7:00pmWednesday: 7:00am-4:00pmThursday: 10:00am to 7:00pmFriday: 6:00 am to 2:00 pmSaturday: 6:00 am to 4:00 pmSunday: 6:00am to 2:00pm During training, you will work 5 days/week. After training, you will work 5 days/week. Days TBD by operational needs.Full-time opportunity (32-40 hours weekly)Schedules are posted two to three weeks in advance Candidates bilingual in Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply! Versiti offers a 10% pay increase upon passing the bilingual certification exam. Responsibilities Prepares collection site and performs set up, including technology systems (may include quality control).Performs donor screening (collects donor histories), mini-physical, and phlebotomy.Observes donors for reactions, provides reaction care, and assists other staff in handling reactions if needed.Conducts automation (Alyx and/or Trima), including recognizing and responding to automation reactions.Rebooks donors for future donation appointments.Understands and performs to all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.Recognizes when the customer is distressed and responds appropriately with tact.Treats donors with customer service excellence and responds to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints.May prepare and pack units for transport.Maintains product integrity and ensures proper identification of all donors.Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures. QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or GED required Experience: Less than 1 year of job-related experience required1-3 years relevant people-facing experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of standardized work routines and methods, general facts and information and/or the use of simple equipment, machines, and materials.Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, and operating instructions.Must have basic mathematical aptitude.Ability to apply judgment to written or oral instructions.Ability to organize work to provide productive workflow.Has strong attention to detail.Must have good communication skills, including the ability to provide feedback to peers.Ability to learn/utilize computer applications such as Ceridian, Hemasphere, Oracle, and HemaTerra.
