Job Summary:The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing blood draws and specimen preparation with skill and care. This role plays a key part in ensuring patient comfort, obtaining accurate samples, and upholding our commitment to quality care across a diverse patient demographic.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform blood draws and prepare specimens for analysis with attention to patient comfort.
- Collect and label specimens according to standard procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Explain blood draw processes to patients clearly and courteously, using appropriate techniques.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including OSHA regulations, and maintain all required PPE.
- Prepare specimens for transport, ensuring correct labeling and storage conditions.
- Maintain specimen integrity by following procedural guidelines and using proper collection techniques.
- Keep track of supplies, maintain cleanliness in the phlebotomy area, and ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
- Handle inquiries professionally and update patient records as needed.
Required Qualifications:- At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Preferred Qualifications:- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Experience with electronic health record systems and data entry.
