Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups. Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc. Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner. Process billing information and collect payments when required. Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis. Maintain patient and specimen information logs. Provide superior customer service to all patients. Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary. Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, updating patient information, etc. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture blood drawing and other specimen collection, such as urine or fecal, as required. Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer labels against script to ensure 100% accuracy. Package specimens for transport. Store specimen samples according to required temperature, place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately label and follow different procedures as outlined by specific protocols deemed necessary for transport to maintain the integrity of the specimen. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 13 Week(s).
Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Temecula, California.
Work Environment Temecula, CA. Mileage will be expensed over 12 miles from home location. Start at 6am or 8am (depending on clinic opening), 8 hours a day - 40 hours a week.
