DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Phlebotomist who will be responsible for drawing blood for all patients at our inpatient treatment program. This individual will providing the onsite medical staff with updates on lab results. Schedule: Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm.Responsibilities: Collect blood samples from all incoming inpatient clients. Conduct waived testing for urine and blood work. Adhere to NY Health Department regulations. Comply with HIPPA law and requirements. Practice proper patient identification, label vials with patient names and dates. Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient. Practice infection control standards at all times when working with patients and equipment. Dispose of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies. Keep your phlebotomy station well-organized at all times. Transpose all labs into each client's medical record for all urine and blood work results. Document route of specimens from collection to laboratory analysis. Inform medical staff of lab test results. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current phlebotomy certification
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience
