Time type: Full time Posted on: Posted 30+ Days Ago Job requisition id: R-232946 The OpportunityResponsible for the efficient and effective collection of plasma from donors by performing venipuncture, monitoring the pheresis process and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).You will reportto the Assistant Center Manager.The RoleIn compliance with SOPs, perform all aspects of the pheresis procedure and plasma collection, including donor set-up, monitoring, and disconnect.Perform venipuncture on donors to begin the pheresis process, adhering to SOPs and FDA guidelines.Evaluate vein performance of the donor to identify possible problems; make necessary corrections to expedite donation time and ensure product quality and donor safety.Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma, explaining the screening process, health screening tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, and proper nutrition.Maintain alertness to any reactions by donors and assist with reactions or notify appropriate staff.Use Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts and alarms, volume variances, and donor adverse events.Perform calibrations and verify that maintenance has been performed as outlined in SOPs. Respond to and resolve complex equipment alarms or donor issues.Troubleshoot equipment failures and create incident documentation.Monitor donor flow on the donor floor to ensure continuous turnover and alert Group Leader or Supervisor of any issues.Collect arm samples or whole blood samples from donors for testing.Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in SOPs.Understand the policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring sufficient operating supplies and forms are available.
