: Job Details :

Responsible for drawing blood from patients in a rural health clinic setting or similar facilities for analysis or other medical purposes.Demonstrates the ability to provide quality Laboratory service appropriate to patients served.

Always calls Panic results to appropriate nursing according to established criteria.

Always verifies that the specimen is appropriate for test ordered.

Always places date received on all reagents and supplies. Always writes date in use on sticker when item opened. Always check for expiration dates, discard when expired.

Properly utilizes sharps containers for disposal of needles and syringes.

Continually keeps up with updates required by department.

Collection of blood samples using the appropriate technique for infants, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

Maintain the laboratory collection area and trays neat, clean and well supplied.

Responsible for the safety of patients and self during all laboratory procedures

Uses laboratory equipment, supplies and time in the most efficient manner possible.
