The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Instructional Support Assistant / Phlebotomist, Lab Specimen & Accessioning. The successful candidate will:
* Perform venipuncture and fingerstick collection on inpatients and outpatients.
* Maintain accurate logs of all venipuncture performed.
* Process and handle specimens in central receiving area.
* Log specimens via LIS (Cerner).
* Participate in all aspects of quality assurance, quality control, patient safety, continuing education and other aspects as needed.
* Train and aid in the instrumentation of techniques to new personnel and house staff.
Required Qualifications:
* 1+ year of experience in venipuncture and clinical labs.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Phlebotomy certification, ASCP or equivalent preferred.

Variable Days; Variable Hours (Full-Time)
