Overview: Performs skin punctures to obtain blood specimens for laboratory testing. Responsible for prompt, accurate processing of test requisitions, accurate charging, registering and ordering tests for outpatients, informing techs of stats and other timed or urgent testing. Telephone patients, physicians and nursing units when required. Maintains neat and organized collection trays, collection areas and work areas. Persons in this position are expected to demonstrate logical, professional behaviors under demanding and stressful conditions. National Phlebotomy Certification preferred. Responsibilities:
