POSITION SUMMARY The Laboratory Outreach phlebotomist is proficient in blood collection from patients of all age groups and performs related techniques while promoting a culture of safety and comfort. Incumbent will follow established policies, adhering to all state and federal regulatory requirements, JCAHO requirements, and national patient safety standards. The Outreach Phlebotomist performs various duties in the specimen processing area of the laboratory including patient registration, order entry, resolving pending specimens and pending transports and preparation of samples for testing and specimen management in the laboratory information system. Individual will monitor test ordering patterns and requisitions to ensure compliance with outpatient laboratory testing. Exhibit positive interpersonal skills, ensuring an excellent level of customer service to our outreach clients. EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: Minimum Required: High school graduate or equivalent. At least six (6) months experience in phlebotomy and laboratory processing preferred. Valid Driver#s License along with a clean driving record. Preferred: Certified through ASCP or ASPT upon hire.
