- Perform order entry, obtaining pertinent patient information and determine specimen collection requirements.
- Perform proper specimen collection by confirming patient ID, collect specimens in proper tubes utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques and accurately label specimens to ensure accurate patient results.
- Process and handle specimens appropriately to maintain sample integrity.
- Perform receptionist and clerical duties.
- Handle patients of all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.
- Communicate well, have excellent customer service, and strong team-building skills.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Experience in phlebotomy or completion of an Accredited Phlebotomy Program with successful completion of experience practicum is desirable.
- On-the-job training available for the right candidate.
- PBT (ASCP) or equivalent National phlebotomy certification, preferred.
