About the Role:
As a Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative I, you'll be the face of our company to patients seeking diagnostic testing. You'll skillfully draw blood samples, prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, and create a welcoming and reassuring environment for patients. Your expertise in phlebotomy and exceptional customer service skills will be essential in providing a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specimen Collection: Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, following established procedures.
- Specimen Preparation: Prepare blood specimens for laboratory testing.
- Patient Interaction: Create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for patients.
- Education: Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their understanding and comfort.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to established practices and procedures to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Customer Service: Promote a positive image of the company to patients, clients, and the public.
Qualifications:
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Flexibility and availability to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Commitment to company policies and procedures, including dress code, safety, and guiding principles.
- Strong decision-making skills and good judgment.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel to various work locations and cover shifts with minimal notice.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Demonstrated superior customer focus, open communication, adaptability to change, and knowledge of the healthcare industry.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification is preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment is preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
Shift:
- Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
- Rotational Saturdays (in Merced), 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM
