- Patient Interaction: Building rapport with patients, explaining procedures, and ensuring a comfortable and confident experience.
- Phlebotomy: Drawing blood samples accurately and efficiently, following established protocols.
- Specimen Preparation: Preparing blood specimens for laboratory testing.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Adhere to strict safety and infection control guidelines.
- Process and label blood specimens accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Provide excellent customer service and address patient concerns.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a patient service center environment.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
