The phlebotomy trainer demonstrates extensive knowledge and experience with competencies, etc performs a wide variety of administrative, fiscal, and technical activities to improve laboratory operations. This position requires a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast -paced evolving and growing, dynamic team environment.Essential Job functions:* Provide training and coaching for new and existing Summit Health phlebotomy employees.* Assisting with the onboarding of new employees to ensure a positive new hire experience.* Develop and implement appropriate resources and programs to accomplish training objectives.* Evaluate new, presently existing, and proposed training materials and plans.* Support phlebotomy leadership with their goals in relation to quality metrics.* Provide phlebotomy team with the guidance needed for Market Leading Service.* Maintain accurate logs and records for all trainings conducted.* Provide training with respect and professionalism at all times.* Maintain competencies for all phlebotomists throughout the organization.* Provide necessary support in Patient Service Centers as needed.* Research industry related information when necessary.* Become well versed in company policies and procedures.General Job functions:* Perform all other duties as assigned.* Work requires close attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.Physical Job Requirements:* Pushing and pulling, taking frequency and weight into consideration.* Physical strength to lift heavy objects, carts, or items, taking frequency and weight into consideration.* Physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into account.* Dexterity of hands and fingers.* Balance is maintained during climbing, bending and/or reaching.* Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking).* Physical agility, which includes the ability to maneuver the body while in place.* Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.Environmental Risks:* Chemicals, Chemotherapy and Fumes* Loud noises* Vibration* Extreme temperatures* Confined spaces* Allergens: dust, mold and/or pollen* Magnetic fields* Radiation* Sharps* Latex* Combative patients/visitorsBlood-borne Pathogens:* Exposure to infectious hazards, blood, body fluids, non-intact skin, or tissue specimens.* Contact with patients or patient specimens is possible.* Unplanned or unexpected exposure.Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:* High school diploma or equivalent* Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is a plus* Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience* Previous training or leadership experience is a plus* Strong communication skills; both written and verbal* High attention to detail and time management skills* Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service* Flexibility to travel throughout territory for training purposes* Comfortable working under minimal supervision* Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office* Additional administrative tasks as neededTravel:* As required for operations, client and personnel meetings, training, and conferences. Pay Range $25/hr - $33/hrThe provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
